Ric Clark spent the past 36 years with the Brookfield Property Group (the real estate arm of Brookfield Asset Management and its affiliates) building a team and growing real estate assets under management from approximately $5 billion to over $200 billion. During his tenure, he expanded investment, and operational and asset management capabilities beyond the office sector into the multifamily, industrial, hotel, retail and other sectors. He also extended Brookfield’s geographic footprint beyond North America and Brazil to Europe, Australia, India and China. As of June 2020, when Mr. Clark left Brookfield to launch WatermanCLARK, Brookfield owned and managed more than 600 million square feet of properties in key markets worldwide.
Philip “Tod” Waterman III founded Waterman Interests, LLC in 2007, leading the Company as CEO into a premier owner and operator of real estate assets in New York City. Prior to that, Mr. Waterman joined Reckson Associates Realty Corp (NYSE “RA”) in 1999 to open their New York City Division. He was responsible for all aspects of that business until the Company was sold to SL Green in January 2007 for approximately $6 billion. From 1987 to 1999, he held various senior executive roles at Tishman Speyer Properties, was a Partner, and sat on the Management Committee. During his tenure, Mr. Waterman was co-head of Rockefeller Center from 1996-1998, and held leadership roles in the Company’s New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco offices. He ultimately had responsibility for oversight of Tishman Speyer’s domestic office portfolio of over 20 million square feet.
Acquisitions & Leasing
Alan Bernstein is responsible for the financial underwriting of investment opportunities that WatermanCLARK pursues. Mr. Bernstein manages and collaborates with employees and third-party agents in all aspects of the leasing and acquisitions efforts the Company undertakes. He received his B.A. from Tufts University with the highest honors and previously worked at Apollo Global Management in its Real Estate Private Equity group.
Jonathon Blackwell is Chief Investment Officer and responsible for overseeing the Company’s investment related activity including sourcing, underwriting, structuring and execution of transactions. Prior to joining WatermanCLARK, he was the Director of Investments at SL Green Realty Corp. Mr. Blackwell has been in the commercial real estate industry for over 13 years and has closed more than $20 billion worth of transactions. He holds a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Aradhna Chopra is responsible for managing the daily operations of property management for 390 Park Avenue by inspecting property conditions and coordinating maintenance work, as well as handling tenant relations, organizing property viewings, budget reviews, and performing various administrative tasks. Ms. Chopra is a graduate of Hunter College City University of New York and has been involved in diverse arenas within the Commercial Property Operations and Construction industry for 13 years. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Chopra worked with firms such as Hines, Atco Properties & Management, Rockhill Management and MetLife.
Robert Conover develops and oversees the Company’s financial, accounting, and capital market activities. He was previously the Chief Accounting Officer with The Related Companies and spent more than a decade with Tishman Speyer, where he worked closely with Mr. Waterman. Mr. Conover has over 35 years commercial real estate experience in the San Francisco, London, and New York City markets and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Syracuse University.
Lisa Conza has 22 years of experience in property management. For the past 11 years, she has been the Assistant Property Manager at 444 Madison Avenue. Ms. Conza prides herself on building relationships with tenants and more importantly maintaining those relationships by communicating effectively.
Marie Destin is the Property Assistant for 125 West 55th Street and has been with the firm for four years. Prior to her tenure with WatermanCLARK, Ms. Destin was an Assistant Property Manager at Taconic Management with oversight of 111 Eight Ave Google Campus, The Chelsea Market, and various buildings in the Meat Packing District.
Director of Operations
Michael Keaveney oversees operations and construction management for WatermanCLARK’s assets. He has been in the New York City management and construction industry for 17 years. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Keaveney held various roles in property management, construction, and critical systems with Fisher Brothers and Jones Lang LaSalle. He received his Master of Science in Real Estate Development from NYU and is also an active member of BOMA, REBNY, and IREM.
Michael Kinney is the Property Manager for 125 W. 55th Street and has been with the firm for over a year. Prior to his tenure with WatermanCLARK, he was the Portfolio Manager for New York with Nightingale Properties and served as the General Manager of 30 Rockefeller Plaza with oversight of NBCU facilities at Tishman Speyer. He has spent time as a Senior Real Estate Manager with CBRE managing numerous NJ assets and a Property Manager with Brookfield Properties. Mr. Kinney is a former US Army Specialist and has over 18 years in the security, construction and property management industries, both in Chicago and the New York Metropolitan Area.
Deirdre Manning provides administrative support to the two Managing Partners. She started with Waterman Properties in 2018 and coordinates office management and scheduling for her colleagues. Ms. Manning graduated magna cum laude from the University of Central Florida.
Jennifer McCool is Chief Operating Officer of WatermanCLARK, responsible for executing company strategy and direction. She oversees all legal and compliance matters and internal organizational structures and functions. Ms. McCool has been in the commercial real estate business for over 20 years and most recently spent 13 years with Related Companies as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. Ms. McCool received her J.D. cum laude from New York Law School and her B.S. from the University of Delaware and currently serves as a board member of Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS) and a member of New York Law School Dean’s Institutional Advisory Board.
Stephen Mykytiuk is responsible for the property management of 390 and 400 Park Avenue. Mr. Mykytiuk has worked in commercial real estate management in New York City for 16 years, and prior to joining WatermanCLARK he worked in the property management divisions of Boston Properties and Macklowe Management.
Sharlene Naidu oversees all financial aspects of certain operating and development properties at WatermanCLARK as well as working on special projects. Prior to joining the Company, she worked in the real estate group at Westpac Banking Corp in Sydney, Australia as well as the global accounting firm, Crowe LLP. Ms. Naidu is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and received a BBusCom degree from the University of Western Sydney.
Mia Pisano is the Property Manager of 444 Madison Avenue, managing the day-to-day operations along with tenant and vendor relationships. Ms. Pisano has more than 15 years of property management experience, including asset management and has overseen Class-A assets for SJP Properties, SL Green and RXR Realty. During the span of her career, she has managed global headquarters for some of the world’s largest companies such as Microsoft, Viacom, Knoll and Proskauer Rose. Ms. Pisano is a graduate of Hunter College and holds a B.A. degree in Psychology and a Certificate of Property Management from NYU School of Professional Studies.
Jessica Rios is the Property Assistant for 400 Park Avenue. She previously assisted with 142 W 36th Street and 234 W 39th Street and has been with the firm for three years. Prior to her tenure with WatermanCLARK, Ms. Rios was the Research Coordinator at the CBRE NYC office.
Brett Spivack is the Company’s Asset Manager and responsible for the successful implementation of each asset’s business plan and reporting the portfolio’s performance to investors. Mr. Spivack was previously an Asset Manager at Thor Equities where he oversaw a portfolio of Office, Retail and Residential properties and prior to that he held various property management and leasing roles at Northstar Properties, SLX Capital Management and Winick Realty Group. Mr. Spivack is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Business Administration and The NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate with an M.S. in Real Estate.
Bianca Suchdeve is a Property Accountant working on financial aspects for The Lever House and 444 Madison Avenue. Before joining WatermanCLARK, Ms. Suchdeve worked at KPMG where she was an audit associate working on real estate clients in New York. She graduated summa cum laude from St. John’s University with a B.S./M.S. in Accounting.
Diann Taylor oversees the day-to-day financial accounting operations of all assets and is responsible for the preparation of annual budgets and monthly management reports. She was previously with Tishman Speyer Properties and Colliers in their accounting departments. Ms. Taylor received a B.A. in Accounting and Business Practices from Herbert H. Lehman College. Ms. Taylor joined the Company in 2011 and has over 23 years of commercial real estate experience.
Sharon Williams is an Accounting Assistant with over 11 years of experience working in the real estate industry, six of those with WatermanCLARK. Her primary responsibilities include accounts receivable, weekly payrolls and employees’ reimbursements. Ms. Williams is Jamaican by birth but considers herself to be a New Yorker as she has lived in NY for many years.
